Accelerating Innovation and Scientific Impact

The °µÍøTV is a place where highly regarded researchers from around the world collaborate at the frontiers of discovery to benefit the world. The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact is a hub of discovery and innovation where teams of world-class bioengineers, accompanied by outstanding students, are driving groundbreaking scientific research and providing interdisciplinary, hands-on training that equips the next generation of applied scientists with the skills to tackle real-world problems. We are pushing the frontiers of bioengineering and life sciences, using a systems approach to identify the origins of disease and dysfunction and developing new technologies that improve the human condition.

By leveraging and integrating existing °µÍøTV research strengths and partnerships, the Knight Campus is opening up new avenues of research in focus areas ranging from bioimaging and computational modeling to 3D printing/bioprinting and regenerative medicine to immunotherapy, machine learning and protein engineering. In addition to shortening the timeline between discovery and societal impact, the Knight Campus is inspiring powerful new partnerships such as the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance at °µÍøTV, the Center for Translational Biomedical Research, and the Papé Family Innovation Center.

We’re positioning the next wave of bioengineers for success through a novel combination of technical training and an emphasis in entrepreneurship, career development, and communication. The Knight Campus combines — under one roof — labs and classrooms, an innovation center, and cutting edge core facilities. And there’s even more on the way as Phase 2 of development unfolds this year. We are fulfilling our mission of science advancing society through programs, facilities, resources, and people — all dedicated to accelerating the impact cycle of scientific discovery.
